Bethany Primitive Baptist Church (4905 Hwy 346, Pontotoc, MS 38863) invites all who love the truth of Sovereign Grace to come and worship with them each Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Those who don’t know the truth of God’s Sovereign Grace are also invited to come and see this great truth. God is the author of our eternal salvation without the inventions or cooperation of sinful mankind. This salvation is entirely a free gift of God. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom. 6:23). Our worship services are simplistic in nature according to the New Testament pattern and consists of singing, praying, and preaching the inspired word of God. We understand that God is in control of our destiny and has determined to give it to whom He will. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” (Eph. 1:5-6). We love Him because He first loved us and gave His only begotten Son for our sins. Thus, he is worthy of all our praise and we should love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and body. Come and join us where we trust that love abounds.
We endeavor to worship according to the New Testament pattern of worship in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24) and embrace everything that is commanded in this pattern and refrain from everything that is not commanded and for which there is no clear example in the New Testament. Articles of Faith, written articles, sermons, directions, contacts and other information are available as you move around the website. God bless you as we all continue to look up to the hills from whence cometh all our help; it must come from above. (Psalms 121:1). These are perilous times in which we live. Our Pastor is married to Sandra Quarles Wise and they have been blessed with three sons, Jonathan Wise, David Wise, and Joseph Wise. Two of these sons have been called into the ministry and are ordained Elders in the Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Jonathan Wise is Pastor of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church in Burnsville, MS and Elder David Wise is Pastor of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, Ackerman, MS. Joseph Wise is still at home with his parents. Brother Larry Wise now has a daughter-in-law, Paige Wise, married to Elder Jonathan Wise and two grandsons, Isaac Wise and Eli Wise. He also has sa daughter-in-law, Bethany Wise , married to Elder David Wise.
