Tomorrow, May 8, is Mother’s Day so we wish all the mothers a very happy Mother’s Day and we trust we all appreciate their love and sacrifice they make for our well-being. We remember all those mothers who have gone to be with the Lord but their legacy will live on forever for those that knew and loved them. They are much like the faith of Abel who still speaks to us today even though he has been dead for centuries. The Bible says, “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” (Heb. 11:4).
We are cultivating precious memories every day and year that will be a blessing, not only at present, but for the years to come. Now if the Lord’s children just loved the Lord comparable to their loving their mothers, just how blessed our churches would be. Actually, we are to love the Lord above all others, even our mothers, in order to be a true disciple of the Lord. Sacrifices are always required for serving the Lord and mothers have prayed and sacrificed that their children might be blessed. Charity never faileth says the scriptures and mother’s love never fails as it is longsuffering just as God’s love for His people.–May 7, 2016–Elder Larry Wise
