Good In All Weather

GOOD IN ALL WEATHER–Elder David Montgomery

Some people are “fair-weather Christians” in that they come to church when life is good and nothing gets in their way of attendance. But when things go awry or their schedule becomes crowded, they tend to stay away. Some people are “foul-weather Christians” in that they attend and pray when life is bad and they need the comfort the church brings. But when things settle down, they find other things to do on Sunday morning. I say that we should be “all-weather Christians” for the Lord deserves nothing less. Let us thank the Lord when times are good and beseech him when life is bad. Let us always worship him and give him praise. Nothing shall separate us from the love of Jesus so why should we ever cease from serving him? The abundant life is always abundant even when our natural life is not so good. It brings peace which passes understanding and joy when joy is nowhere found. If you can’t be at church this Sunday then be the church this Sunday and give him all the praise you can muster. It is the least we can do and will bring the most good in our life.

Some people wonder what happened to the church that no longer is able to meet when they had the opportunity to be there when it did meet. Don’t take the blessing of church worship for granted. We need to pray the Holy Spirit will guide more seekers of truth to our churches so it might continue to grow and prosper.–Elder Larry Wise-October 3, 2014
