Good Lineup

This is a good lineup at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church ready to shake hands with everybody after worship services. These young people get a joy out of shaking hands with all the worshipers that participate. The older people also receive a joy and blessing.  Some churches don’t have a right hand of fellowship handshake any more, and I don’t understand why. I realize that the congregation might be so large at special meeting that it might not be practical t do this.  However, most gatherings are not that large and a handshake can very easily be accomplished. These young people (most times) are eager to be a direct part of this conclusion of the worship services.  It would be nice to have a lineup twice this size of young people that are ready to participate in the right hand of fellowship.  “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;”  (Eccl. 12:1).  “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;”  (Psalm 92:13-14).  Paul and Barnabas were given the right hands of fellowship by James, Cephas, and John as they departed to preach the gospel to the heathen (Gentile). (Gal. 2:9).  Jerusalem is the city of truth and with what should the city of truth be filled?  “Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.” (Zech. 8:4-5).–November 13, 2012–Elder Larry Wise
