Annual Meeting Report

Benjamin C Winslett

Elder Ben Winslett

Bethany was blessed with a Spirit-filled annual meeting September 7-9 with four great messages from Elder Ben Winslett, Pastor of Flint River Primitive Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. We had excellent attendance and visitation from our sister churches accompanied by good singing, praying, and of course preaching. Thanks to all who contributed to the success of the meeting, whether it was preparing and bringing food, praying or just being in the congregation to be edified. The opening song on Friday night certainly was fulfilled which was entitled “Revive Us Again.” Four sermons were delivered entitled: 1. “The Superiority of Christ”  2. “Being a Primitive Baptist on Purpose”  3. “Ministry of the Church”  4. “I Am Not Ashamed” They can be heard on the audio sermons page of the website. Pray that we will have revival not just during our special meetings such as this but each Sunday service will be a time of revival. We need to be excited and looking forward to assembling to worship the Lord of glory. We bring strength and courage to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ by not neglecting the assembly of the saints. God gave His best which was the only begotten Son of God  which came to save us from our sins. We should also give our best and we undoubtedly will be rewarded, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. “Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place. Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” (I Chron. 16:27-29)–September 10, 2012–Elder Larry Wise
