Without God

This certainly sums up our week without God because the Bible tells us that without Christ we can do nothing. That is that we can do nothing good. He is the vine and we are the branches, and when we abide in Him we bring forth fruit to the honor of God. Each day is a day that we have the opportunity to honor our great God and His Son, Jesus Christ. It doesn’t have to be mournful or sinful if we look to him as the author and finisher of our faith. Prior to being born again, we were without God and without hope in the world, but now we have the Lord on the inside and greater is He that is in us that He that is in the world. This gives us the ammunition to overcome our own sinful self and the world in order to honor God. With God all good thing are possible but without Him our life would be miserable. Paul tells us that, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (I Cor. 15:19). That would be our week without God and Christ. We would indeed be more weaker than we are by nature. Jesus told His disciples, “The Spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak” so watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. God bless us to always remember that we need Him each day of our lives.–July 3, 2012–Elder Larry Wise
