Communion Meeting Report

Elder Charles Kitchens--Jasper Alabama

The May Communion Meeting the 3rd weekend in May, 2012 was greatly blessed. Elder Charles Kitchens (at right) from Jasper, Alabama was our guest minister. We were blessed with a very large congregation on Friday night with good singing and excellent preaching by Elder Kitchens. His subject was “God’s Word is Truth” as he proved by the scriptures that what God says is true no matter what men may say or think. Saturday night was also blessed with a large congregation, although not quite as large as Friday night. The singing was just as good as well as the preaching. Elder Kitchens spoke on the subject “If the Foundations be Destroyed” from Psalms 11:3. The children of God must continue to trust God in spite of all the adversity of a possible foundation destruction. The foundation of Christ cannot be destroyed, but what we build on this foundation might be, depending on what we do or do not do. Sunday was blessed with a good congregation, singing, and a message by the Pastor on walking in the light and experiencing the cleansing blood of Christ from I John 1:7. (All these sermons are on our Audio Sermons page) This was followed by Communion with the observance of the Lord’s Supper in the partaking of the unleavened bread and wine and the washing of the Saint’s feet. (See some photos of this Communion in our website page “Communion Photos”) There was much rejoicing and the 7 new members we were blessed to baptize last year participated in the Communion. We had another excellent meal after the service in the Fellowship Hall and went home with many blessings laid in store that can be resurrected when needed. Thanks to all who brought food, prayed, attended and supported this meeting. Most of all, however, we thank the Lord for visiting us with His heart felt presence in the person of the Holy Spirit.–May 21, 2012–Elder Larry Wise
