Bethany was richly blessed with a Spirit filled meeting the weekend of September 9-11, 2016 with large congregation on Friday night, Sept. 9 and outstanding preaching by Elder Ricky Harcrow from Galatians 5:1 on Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ had made you free.
We were blessed with a wonderful congregation on Saturday, Sept. 10. I emphasized wonderful because usually Saturday morning is usually our poorest attended worship service; however we were blessed with many visitors who traveled a good distance to worship with us. Good singing and again outstanding sermon by Elder Harcrow on the Three In One Godhead–The Father, The Word and The Holy Ghost. Jesus was God made manifest in the flesh. John 14:8 was used as a text. When Philip asked to be shown the Father, Jesus told him that he that had seen Him had seen the Father. Had a great meal after service and great fellowship and Bro.Larry Wise, Bro. Rusty Wise, visited in the home of Bro. James and Sister Peggy Hall that afternoon with Elder Harcrow.
Saturday night was blessed with a good fish supper prepared by Bro. Gene York and other great fixings by Sisters of the church and sister churches. We were blessed with another excellent congregation, good singing and a great message by Bro. Ricky Harcrow from John 17:1 on the hour of Christ’s death and His sufferings and glory to follow with several side messages as well. Elder Harcrow had to leave after church on Saturday night and please pray for his wife who is battling breast cancer and discouraged at the moment.
Good attendance on Sunday with good singing and a message by Pastor Elder Larry Wise on Different Changes and the cause and results of such change, good and bad and also that which is unchangeable. Enjoyed a good meal afterward but didn’t have as many stay for lunch as usual. Thank the Lord for answering our prayers for the meeting.
